Rule – 1
No other metal is as useful as iron -এরূপ no other যুক্ত Positive degree থেকে Comparative ও Superlative degree তে রূপান্তরের Structure :

Examples:
1. Pos.: No other city in Bangladesh is as big as Dhaka.
Comp.: Dhaka is bigger than any other city in Bangladesh.
Sup.: Dhaka is the biggest city in Bangladesh.
2. Comp.: Iron is more useful than any other metal.
Pos.: No other metal is as useful as iron.
Sup.: Iron is the most useful metal.
3. Sup.: Samira is the tallest of all girls in the class.
Comp.: Samira is taller than all other girls in the class.
Pos.: No other girl in the class is as tall as Samira.
N. B. – 1. Positive Degree -তে No other -এর পরের Verb -টি Singular হবে।
2. Comparative Degree -তে than all other -এর পরের noun টি plural হবে কিন্তু than any other এর পরের noun টি singular হবে।
1. No other accident was as terrible as that.
2. Shakespeare is the greatest dramatist.
3. The cow is more useful than all other domestic animals.
4. The Arabian Nights is the most popular of all stories.
5. No other country in the world is as dear to me as Bangladesh.

Rule – 2
Few/ Very few boys are as good as Zaman -এরূপ Few বা Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree থেকে Comparative ও Superlative Degree তে রূপান্তরের Structure :

Sup. : Dhaka is one of the biggest cities in Bangladesh.
3. Sup. : Hamlet is one of the most popular dramas.
Comp. : Hamlet is more popular than most other dramas.
Pos. : Very few dramas are as popular as Hamlet
N.B. – 1. Positive Degree -তে Few/Very few -এর পরের Verb -টি plural হবে।
2. Superlative Degree -তে one of the -এর পরের noun -টি plural হবে।
3. Comp. Degree -তে than most other/than few other -এর পরের noun -টি plural হবে।
1. Very few animals are so cunning as the fox.
2. Gold is more precious than most other metals.
3. Akbar is one of the greatest kings of India.
4. Few historians write as correctly as Joshi.
5. Canada is colder than most other countries.
6. The Tajmahal is one of the greatest wonders of the world.
7. Very few cars are so comfortable as Mercedes.
8. Sabuj is more intelligent than most other boys.
9. Rabindra Nath Tagore is one of the greatest poets of the world.
10. Very few pictures of the world are as great as this.

Rule – 3
Karim is as good as Rahim -এরূপ as……..as যুক্ত Positive Degree থেকে Comparative Degree -তে রূপান্তরের Structure :
Comp. : Subject2 + Verb + not + Comparative Degree + than + Subject1
Pos. : Subject2 + Verb + as + Positive Degree + Subject1
Example :
1. Pos. : Karim is as good as Rahim
Comp. : Rahim is not better than Karim.
2. Com. : A tiger was not braver than the Sher-e-Bangla.
Pos. : The Sher-e-Bangla was as brave as a tiger.
Rule – 4
Karim is not as good as Rahim -এর not so/as………as যুক্ত Positive Degree থেকে Comparative Degree -তে রূপান্তরের Structure:
Comp. : not as/so -এর জায়গায় less বসাতে হবে এবং দ্বিতীয় as এর জায়গায় than বসাতে হবে।
অথবা, Subject2 + Verb + Comparative Degree + than + Subject1
Pos. : (less যুক্ত হলে) less -এর জায়গায় not as/so এবং than এর জায়গায় as বসবে।
অথবা, (less যুক্ত না হলে) Object + Verb + not + as + Positive Degree + as + Subject.
Example :
1. Pos. : Karim is not as good as Rahim.
Comp. : Karim is less good than Rahim.
Or, : Rahim is better than Karim.
2. Comp. : Mita is clever than Ruma
Pos. : Ruma is not as clever as Mita.
N. B. – Rule-3 ও Rule-4 ভালোভাবে লক্ষ্য করলে দেখবে Positive Degree affirmative হলে, Comparative Degree negative হবে এবং Positive Degree negative হলে, Comparative Degree affirmative হবে।
